I had one of the “memory foam” toppers from Walmart before, and it didn’t last on my bed too long. I also regularly slept over on my bf’s Tempurpedic. Nothing called Memory Foam really beats the real deal, unfortunately. However, this one from Serta is really close! I tossed and turned less at night, and I woke up feeling no back pain as I usually would. (I actually have a very good mattress on top of it because of my back pain.) So, I am impressed!

The instructions are very clear. It is important to read it before sleeping on it. For example, the topper has an interesting scent to it. It does fade away as time goes on.

I will continue to provide my feedback in a week or so.

I wake up feeling no back pain every day.

It’s plush, dense and not too soft.

Reasonably priced for its quality.

I highly recommend it.

I recently got married, and we decided to use my husband’s bed because it was bigger. (He had a queen-size, and I had a full-sized) The problem was, he had purchased a slightly lesser quality mattress that was very hard. He thought this would work better for him as he sleeps on his stomach. I sleep on my side/back, and discovered very quickly that the hard mattress was giving me backaches in the morning, as well as extremely stiff, sore joints in my hips. The thought of several years sleeping on this mattress really didn’t appeal to me, when the mattress I had previously – which was medium – never gave me aches or pains. I also discovered I was tossing/turning more and waking continuously on my husband’s hard mattress. This wasn’t going to work!

I had the opportunity to receive this Serta 2 1/2″ Memory Foam Topper, and I took it. My husband was game to try it and see how it would work. When it arrived, it unrolled and expanded to it’s fullness right away – no waiting! Neither of us noticed any odor that was overly obnoxious, so we decided to use it the same night it arrived.

The 2 1/2″ does add quite a bit of dimension to a mattress, and that is something I personally like. It was like having my old bed back! I just like the way a bed “makes up” when it has that extra height. Bedding just seems to fit/look better. NOTE: fitted sheets will need to have extra deep pockets. Our fitted sheets accomodate up to 18″, and we use all of that!

Climbing into bed (and that is literally what I had to do, and I LOVED it!), was such a treat! The foam feels so comfy, but it does offer support and “cuddles” the body. There is firmness, but there is “give.” A good combination, that just feels so right!

But the real test? The sleep! The first night was iffy, I will admit. But I’ve been sleeping on this for almost a week now, so the jury is in. I’m finding I simply do NOT toss/turn. Whereas before I was constantly tossing and turning and turning and tossing – and waking up each and every time I did so – now, I fall asleep and find I wake up in the same position several hours later! Before, I would wake up to turn over every 1 1/2 to 2 hours. This is simply BLISS!! The only time I wake up now is if hubby moves over or if mather nature calls. I don’t move, I don’t wake up – I LOVE that! And, because of that, I get far more restful sleep.

And what does my husband think? He likes it! He can still sleep on his stomach easily, and he’s much more comfortable. Plus, if either of us needs to get up in the middle of the night, the way the foam doesn’t shift weight, we don’t disturb each other. This is great, because he goes to sleep much earlier than I do, and he gets up much earlier than I.

The only thing I can think of that is a negative is that the foam does shift slightly. But this is easily remedied when we take the sheets off to be laundered.

I love, love, LOVE this!! I feel as if I have my old, higher quality mattress back! And I can finally sleep much better! Thank you, Serta, and thank you, Amazon!

I love this mattress topper. It is a lot thicker and more comfortable than I expected it to be. It comes rolled up and vacuum packed, so the box size is deceptive. As soon as you start to cut the bag off of it, the foam starts to expand, and it would have been pretty comical to anyone watching as I was soon engulfed by a big foam mattress! Memory foam feels weird. It seems a little sticky, but it’s really not, it’s just not a texture that I’ve felt before. You might think 2.5 inches isn’t very thick, but it actually is! It is nice and thick and plush.

I layed the foam topper down on my mattress. Then I got out the topper cover, which is REALLY nice and soft and very well made. It has big elastic pocket corners so it actually fit over my existing mattress AND box springs to ensure a snug fit. Seriously, this cover is nice. I was impressed.

So then came the big test. I made my bed and then sat down on it. I sunk in a bit, but it felt cushy and nice. Then I laid down… and ohhh even nicer. The topper molds to your body and creates a really nice feeling. It was SO comfortable. I slept for 8 hours straight and woke up feeling nice and refreshed. Yay! I love this topper and I wish I would have gotten it a lot sooner.

This product is comparable to the ones sold at Costco, except it’s way less expensive. Very comfortable. Makes a firm mattress usable for someone that doesn’t like firm. No odor after a week or so and after about a year of usage the memory foam is retaining it’s memory.

Very good product. Would buy again.

This pillow is all right, but it is a bit too soft. It also hardly has any height and with the softness, if you sleep on your side you end up sleeping with your neck angled downwards. I have woken up with a headache a few times because of this. I paired it with another pillow in order to make it higher and little but firmer, but it still isn’t the best it could be. I would pay more and get a higher density pillow. Of course this type of product is something that depends upon the preferences of the person using it. It just didn’t work for me as well as I thought it would.

I have never owned a memory foam pillow before so I don’t know if it’s a regular sizes for all of them. But I found it to be very low. I have a wide shoulders and the pillow didn’t support my head very well. My guess is that it’s probably better to get some of the other ones (heavier) like 3 or 4 lbs. they might be a little bit bigger.

The foam feels very soft and comfortable, though.

I bought 2 of these in 2007 and they were fantastic. Decided to buy 2 more a year later (2008), but the pillows were considerably smaller and softer. I thought they sent me a different model, but the code was the same.

I had to wash my older ones and keep using them. Good thing is the older ones keep their shape.

OK – sleeping on this pillow is pure heaven. The first night, I dreamed my entire bed was made of this stuff, and I woke up with a big smile on my face. I was in exactly the same position I fell asleep in. That is a miracle in itself.

I have severe degeneration of my cervical spine. When I was 28 years old my chiropractor told me I had the neck of a 65 year old woman. I also had a completely reversed curvature. When I saw the xray, I understood. For 25 years since then I have struggled with severe neck pain, and finding a pillow that will just – let – me – sleep – has been impossible. I have paid a bundle for all kinds. This one is a godsend. I’m not saying it’s a cure or that it will work for anyone else, just that it works for me.

This 4 pound weight is perfect for me. It is very sturdy with strong support, sinks in very little, and is SO SOFT. It springs right back when pressed, and it does not retain heat. I was afraid I would get sweaty at night, but not so. It’s a small pillow compared to the other foam types I’ve had. It is a standard size, but I wish it was a little longer, more like a queen size pillow. Still it is pure pleasure. I can sleep both on my back and my side, and my head is kept in perfect alignment with my spine. It is by far the best pillow I’ve had. I wouldn’t trade it for all the royal goose down in the world.

I had originally tried the Isotonic Ultra Contour pillow and wanted a cheaper version of that pillow so I decided to try this.

The description certainly made it seem as if this would be a worthy runner up to the Isotonic memory foam pillow. Boy, was I wrong. This pillow is extremely firm, to the point that it hurt to even sleep on. I didn’t feel that it contoured to anything! It also seemed to build up heat. The overall experience was terrible. In fact, I woke up in the middle of the first night of having it and went and packed it up for return. If you are looking for a rock hard pillow, this is great I guess but if you are looking for something along the lines of the fantastic Tempurpedic pillow (or Isotonic) do spend the money and get those instead. The difference is astounding.

I have come to the conclusion that contour pillows are more of a custom item. What is wonderful for one person is bad for another. This is a good prodcut. For myself i found the hups and the middle dip too extreme for my body. This is not a design flaw in the product by merely a factor of the wrong size. I have another smaller pillow that I got for free when ordering a memory foam pad. That one is a much better fit for me personally. I would recommend that anyone looking into one of these items go out to a store and feel one in person, see if there is a matress you can lie on to try it out. Then come back to amazon and compare prices of the exact same item.

For this particular item, the covering is not the soft velour cover that comes on the Swedish products, it is a terry cloth.

I went on a trip a few weeks ago and left my expensive cervical pillow in the hotel room. an hour later they conveniently couldn’t find it, grrrrrrrrrr. anyhoo, for about 3 weeks now i’ve been trying to find a replacement. I bought 4 different pillows and none of them held up. once they got warm, they lost all form. (ooh a rhyme!) My neck was in pain and i couldn’t get decent sleep.

finally, when all my physical store options were exhausted i logged on to amazon and started reading reviews. the #1 review is what made me order this pillow. the one thing she said was “it doesn’t lose it’s shape” and she was right… it keeps that hump for your neck even though it gets soft to your body heat. That’s what is essential for these kinds of pillows. the dip is there to cradle your head and support you, not melt away in the night and make your shoulder hurt for 3 weeks.

This pillow is fairly hard when you first lay on it, but it warms up just perfect after awhile. I recommend it for people looking for a cervical pillow to do it’s thing… support your neck and help you sleep better.

i give this 4 stars because nowhere in this packaging or on the pillow does it say it’s a serta, and i don’t believe it really is that brand.

I bought this for an Xmas present and it has since been returned. It never “opened up” except in small spots throughout the pad. It was a lumpy hard pad not more than 1/8 inch thick in most places. It had yellow stains all over, like it had been left in the sun while rolled up. Terrible.

I bought another one elsewhere and it was perfect. Buyer, be aware.

I sleep with a Nova memory foam mattress topper (bought from Costco in Canada) and found it very good. This summer I sublet an apartment for a couple of months and ordered a Serta 3-pound memory foam (supposedly a memory form) mattress topper. It was already on the bed when I arrived at the apartment. I immediately felt that it was not actually memory foam. Then I looked at the actual topper and found that it was just foam, which is quite different from memory foam. I definitely would not recommend this particular brand. In my opinion, the label “memory foam” was a false label.

i have this actually 2x of these on my bed…i love it but i think i will buy 2 more. they are only at any walmart and you don’t have to pay shipping. 2 make it comfy and 2 more should make it perfect. the 1 1/2 are the only ones that are true memory foam. watch for larger and more expensive ones that are a blend.
